I took on this project to advance my animation prowess, putting in the extra time and effort to create a fluid and calm motion.
Initial sketches
The animation was created to accompany the song Drifting by BENEE, a rather tranquil song about coasting through space. The video depicts her doing exactly that.
I designed each feature of her separately so that they could each move independently and at different speeds, conveying the lack of controlled force in space.
Each moving piece has dozens of accompanying frames before they loop, allowing for a very fluid animation, which helps to convey the peaceful tone of the song.
