aim

To design a logo for the quasquicentennial anniversary of Letchworth Garden City that captures the spirit of Letchworth, it's past, present, and future. This logo will appear on promotional materials, events, and campaigns.

solution

A stylised squirrel is used as the backbone of the logo, as squirrels are an integral part of Letchworth's image, being one of the only places in the UK with an abundant population of Black Squirrels. This reflects Letchworth's past and present, but also it's future, as it intends to continue with the preservation of agricultural land and local wildlife.

The squirrel is left fairly simple so that the logo can be scaled down and can be adapted depending on the medium in which it is being presented.
